Yes, you have a story. Yes, it matters that you share it.

*This post is being reshared on the new hilovegreetings.com. It was originally shared on Dec 6, 2022. Some things have changed, including moving our Creative Services to Bakeapple Creative! We’ll share more on that soon.

I’m a storyteller at heart. Always have been. To me, every person and every business has a story. Each story is unique and made up of our surroundings, lived experiences, memories, skills, goals, and desires.

A personal introduction. It’s lovely to meet you!

My story as an entrepreneur begins here as I officially launch hi, love. greetings. But, my story that led me here started a long time ago. You can learn more about me here. Here’s the quick version: I spent nearly 20 years as a radio broadcaster and station program and promotions director. I thrive when I get to stretch my creative muscles. I delight in helping others share their voice and their story. I’m an Indigenous (Inuk, Nunatsiavut) woman entrepreneur and I’m particularly passionate about working with other entrepreneurs. I currently live in the achingly beautiful Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia with my husband, Goose and our two cats, Kitty and Holly. If we’re ever on a video chat together, I’m sure you’ll get to see a feline cameo or two. All of these things are part of my story and serve as inspiration for everything I create. Inuit traditions, the love of modern design I share with my husband, the food we eat, the places we love to visit, the people I’ve met. All part of the story of me and my business.

A framed photo of an art print made by hi, love. greetings. The image printed is a polar bear shape filled with an original digital painting of the northern lights.

I was fortunate to grow up being able to see Aurora Borealis, or the northern lights, on a regular basis. I’ll never stop being amazed by this incredible phenomenon. My latest collection of art prints and cards feature my digital paintings of northern lights.

At the end of August, 2022, I did a scary thing that some may say is the end of one story and the start of another. I call it a new chapter. I left a career I had been successful in for 17 years to pursue a new adventure. I felt in the core of my being that it was time to make a change. I wanted to work with others to help craft and share their stories. I wanted to spend my days making and creating. Whether it be making a new logo for a business, crafting copy for a website or an ad, or designing for my own in-house stationery line, I knew that I would feel invigorated and motivated to succeed.

Aerial view after leaving the airport in my hometown of Happy Valley - Goose Bay, NL. The often sparse landscape and rugged beauty are constant sources of inspiration for me.

I sometimes struggle with feeling like I’m at the starting line of something. I want to inhale and absorb knowledge faster than my brain or the hours in a day will allow. Being an entrepreneur quickly humbles that feeling. It’s okay to reach out to allow others with expertise and knowledge to work with them, listen to them, and utilize their skills. (Hello, bookkeeping! I’m good with math, but I’ll be getting help in this department so I can better spend my time doing what I do best).

The first part of helping tell someone else’s story is listening. I listen for the nuances, the unique moments, the parts of life and business that come together to shape who we are and why we do what we do. Together, I work with you to discover your goals, your needs, and how we can connect you with your audience in a meaningful way.

A neon sign that reads, "We are all made of stories" is shown hanging on a wall. The light is bright orange or red.

You have a personal story to tell that is directly reflected in your work. Your story is an integral part of the experience for each customer. Your story matters because it’s yours.

When you find it difficult to share your story or put it into words, it doesn’t mean you don’t have a worthwhile story to tell. It just means you need the help of a storyteller.

I’m here to listen. Let today be the start of a new chapter in your story.
